Graduate Feature: Izzabelle Tokarski-Paine - QC Makeup Academy

Why did you decide to start a career in makeup artistry? What about it appeals to you?

I’ve loved makeup for years. After having my little boy, Eligh, I decided to study makeup so I could work from home instead of going back to work. I love doing a natural look, but also love a challenge!

Has any makeup appointment not gone according to plan? How did you handle it?

At this point in time, nothing has gone terribly wrong with my brides, thankfully.

What’s one thing you wish someone had told you before starting your makeup training?

That girls who are leaving school are actually the fussiest clients, haha.

How do you think QC Makeup Academy has prepared you for working in the field?

The school has definitely given me amazing tips and tricks on preparing looks for clients, and how to enhance an individual’s features.

Do you have any big goals for your business in 2019 that you’d like to share?

I’d love to start working in a salon to get more experience or even buy my own salon.

If you could only use one makeup product for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Brow pomade! Brows are the most important part, in my opinion.
