We\u2019re going to go out on a limb here and say that most SFX artists tried this one in the early stages of their training.\n\nThe glue and tissue trick is a great way to build texture on a client\u2019s skin. All you need is non-toxic white glue and toilet paper or facial tissues! Here\u2019s how you might go about applying the products:\n<ol>\n \t<li>Place a small amount of glue on the desired area (avoid places with hair, like the arms or eyebrows \u2013 that will make removal a painful experience!)<\/li>\n \t<li>Add a small piece of tissue on top of the glue, and then add more glue around the edges and on top of the paper.<\/li>\n \t<li>Build up layers of tissue and glue! Mold and shape them as you go to create raised edges and definition!<\/li>\n \t<li>\u00a0And TA-DA! Add some face paint or makeup to create blood, skin, or bruises and you\u2019ve got yourself a wound!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=&#8221;No Line&#8221; custom_height=&#8221;30&#8243;][image_with_animation image_url=&#8221;29262&#8243; alignment=&#8221;&#8221; animation=&#8221;Fade In&#8221; border_radius=&#8221;none&#8221; box_shadow=&#8221;none&#8221; max_width=&#8221;100%&#8221;][divider line_type=&#8221;No Line&#8221; custom_height=&#8221;30&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"DIY_Fake_Blood\"><\/span>DIY Fake Blood<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\nFor gore looks, fake blood is a requirement! Is it even gore if your model isn\u2019t dripping in fake blood?\n\nYou can DIY fake blood with simple ingredients in a few ways! Here\u2019s how to do the first one:\n<ol>\n \t<li>Grab some sifted flour or cornstarch along with food coloring and corn syrup.<\/li>\n \t<li>Combine one part water with three parts corn syrup. Slowly add a few drops of red food coloring (If you add a little of blue and green too you\u2019ll end up with a much more realistic color).<\/li>\n \t<li>Add your flour or cornstarch (these will act as a thickening agent) until the \u201cblood\u201d is the right consistency!<\/li>\n \t<li>VOILA! All you need is wax paper, tape, and a sponge. Here\u2019s how you do it:\n<ol>\n \t<li>Cut out your desired pattern onto a sheet of wax paper (we recommend alien-esque scales!)<\/li>\n \t<li>Tape the paper\/stencil onto your skin.<\/li>\n \t<li>Finally, use a sponge to apply skin-safe paints on top! Experiment with colors and blending to get some cool effects!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=&#8221;No Line&#8221; custom_height=&#8221;30&#8243;][image_with_animation image_url=&#8221;29260&#8243; alignment=&#8221;&#8221; animation=&#8221;Fade In&#8221; border_radius=&#8221;none&#8221; box_shadow=&#8221;none&#8221; max_width=&#8221;100%&#8221;][divider line_type=&#8221;No Line&#8221; custom_height=&#8221;30&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fishnet_Scales\"><\/span>Fishnet Scales<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\nThis hack is pretty common too. It\u2019s another great way to create texture without buying fancy products! All you need is a pair of fishnet stockings and some skin-safe paint (or even just eye shadow!)\n\nHere\u2019s how you go about it:\n<ol>\n \t<li>Stretch the fishnet over the desired area. We recommend the face, arms, or legs! FYI, you\u2019re going to look real wacky with a fishnet over your face\u2026 so brace yourself!<\/li>\n \t<li>Take your paints or eye shadows and experiment with blending colors in different areas. It gives an incredible effect when you contour and highlight with bright colors over the fishnets.<\/li>\n \t<li>Carefully remove the fishnets so you won\u2019t smudge your work. And you\u2019re done!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Veins_of_Thread\"><\/span>Veins of Thread<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\nThis one is by far my favorite. It\u2019s super easy and beginner-friendly but gives an incredible result! All you need is some yarn, which you\u2019ll want to pull apart into thin threads. Plus, some adhesive (eyelash glue works great!) and white liquid glue. Here\u2019s how you get some creepy veins:\n<ol>\n \t<li>Spread a thin layer of eyelash glue or skin-safe adhesive on your desired area.<\/li>\n \t<li>Take some pulled-apart wool yarn (in red) and spread it in lines (like veins, duh!)<\/li>\n \t<li>Tap it on with your finger, and keep layering and overlapping different strands until you\u2019re satisfied!<\/li>\n \t<li>Dab some white liquid glue on top to seal it in (careful not to mess up your pattern!)<\/li>\n \t<li>Finally, finish it off by using eyeshadow to create bruising and redness!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=&#8221;Full Width Line&#8221; line_thickness=&#8221;1&#8243; divider_color=&#8221;accent-color&#8221; custom_height=&#8221;75&#8243;][vc_column_text]\n<h4>So now that you know all these budget-friendly makeup hacks, which one are you going to try?
