Not to mention, most of us are raring to go after enjoying some downtime over the holidays.\n\nHowever, as a makeup artist, the situation can be a little different. The holidays are a busy and popular time for bookings. Working back-to-back appointments is terrific for business\u2014but it can also leave you feeling a little drained and ready for your own pampering session.\n\nTaking a few days out in January to recharge your batteries might be what you need to get you feeling your best and ready for the year ahead! One of my favorite ways to relax is to grab one of my favorite bath bombs and run a really nice bath. Not a fan of bubbles? Scheduling some \u201cme time\u201d can be as simple as taking some time to paint your nails or put on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qcmakeupacademy.com\/2016\/12\/8-steps-keep-skin-glowing-winter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">face mask<\/a>.\n\nI always find that at this time of year my skin is looking a bit drab and dull, so taking the time look after my skin helps me feel revitalized! \n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Toss_old_products_and_buy_some_new_ones\"><\/span>Toss old products (and buy some new ones)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"672\" height=\"448\" src=\"https:\/\/www.qcmakeupacademy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/shutterstock_271775024-ed.jpg\" alt=\"How to unwind after a busy season as a makeup artist\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17040\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.qcmakeupacademy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/shutterstock_271775024-ed.jpg 672w, https:\/\/www.qcmakeupacademy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/shutterstock_271775024-ed-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 672px) 100vw, 672px\" \/>\n\nThe next thing is decluttering your makeup, whether it be your own personal stash or your freelance kit. As the saying goes\u2014tidy space, tidy mind! I find that sometimes I get stuck in a rut of using the same products over and over &#8212; even though I have a collection of some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qcmakeupacademy.com\/2017\/01\/7-products-post-holiday-blues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amazing products<\/a> that I&#8217;ve forgotten about! \n\nGoing through your collection reminds you of all the hidden gems you&#8217;ve been neglecting and helps you reorganize them! This also gives you the chance to let go of some products that aren&#8217;t working for you that you know you&#8217;re not going to get any use out of.\n\nOnce you&#8217;ve decluttered it becomes a lot easier to see what you&#8217;re missing from your freelance kit! And what better time to get those bits than in the January sales when you can save some money! Of course, don&#8217;t forget about yourself too\u2014if there have been some products you&#8217;ve been eyeing up and are desperate to try it may be the perfect time to treat yourself!\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reboot_your_social_media\"><\/span>Reboot your social media<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\nAs a makeup artist, you know how important your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qcmakeupacademy.com\/2017\/01\/building-portfolio-every-makeup-artist-know\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">digital portfolio<\/a> is to booking clients. With a new year, sometimes it&#8217;s good to have a bit of a social media refresh. A good way to do this is by updating the Instagram account you use for your makeup artistry with photos of your holiday looks.\n\nOr you could focus on adding some new photos to your website. A friend of mine recently bought me an organizer and I didn&#8217;t realize how much I needed one until I started using it!\n\nHaving too much information and dates running around in your head is unnecessarily stressful. Instead, get it all down on paper! Seeing your commitments on a page will help you think more clearly!
