A Fall-Inspired Makeup Tutorial: Colorful Eyes & Smoked-Out Liner - QC Makeup Academy

QC Student Ambassador, Stephanie Wyatt, joins us this month to create a unique fall-inspired makeup tutorial. Watch the video below to see how she creates this gorgeous & wearable look!

Step One

Stephanie uses the QC Makeup Academy Neutral Eyeshadow Palette and a fluffy blending blush to mix two brown-toned shades on her lid.
Next, Stephanie picks up a soft burgundy-red shade, and follows her crease, slowly building up the color to her preference.

Switching to a dark brown shimmer shade, Stephanie goes over the red eyeshadow she just applied to create more depth. She concentrates this in the crease and outer corners of the lid to create a smoky effect.

Once she has built up to the color she wants, Stephanie goes in with a bigger blending brush to blend all the colors together and create a seamless lid. As she blends, Stephanie tries to create a sharper edge on the shadow at the outer V.

Step Two

Use a flat concealer brush to cover just the lid, and only up to the crease. This will create a cut-crease effect and make the center of the lid pop. Make sure to set the concealer in place with a light-colored shadow.

Step Three

Use an eyeliner pencil to draw a line from the inner to outer corners of your eyes. Stephanie adds black eyeshadow over top of her liner to further create a smoked-out look. Follow up with a liquid or gel eyeliner to create a small wing on the outer corner. To tie the whole eye together, bring your liner down through your lower lash line. Smoke out the liner about a quarter of the way into your lower lash line.

Step Four

Use a small blending brush or a pointed liner brush to gently smoke out your liquid or gel liner. This will keep your eyeliner looking sharp, but will blend the entire eye look together.

Pro Tip: Use concealer on a flat brush to clean up the outer V, depending on how sharp or soft you want the eyeshadow to look.

Step Five

With the same burgundy-red shadow, Stephanie adds the finishing touch on her lower lash line to encompass the color all throughout the look.

Step Six

Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara. Add a subtle inner corner highlight to finish the look. Voila!
