It’s time for QC Makeup Academy’s annual Holiday Makeup Contest!
This year, we’re going “Naughty” or “Nice”! draw inspiration from a photograph and create a Winter Fairy Princess or Evil Snow Queen makeup look! You don’t need to be a QC student, everyone is welcome to enter.
There will be an amazing prize for both categories, AND a special prize for QC students and grads who enter the contest!
Hurry! Contest entries close on December 15th, 2015!
How It Works
This contest contains two categories. You can enter in one or both categories, the choice is yours.
Simply complete your makeup look, and send in your entry via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 15th.
In your email, you’ll need to include the following:
- Your full name
- Your student number if you are a QC student or graduate
- Your email address and a daytime phone number
- Your full mailing address
- Clear, high quality Before and After pictures of your model
- A brief description of the look you decided to create
On December 16th, we’ll post the semi-finalists to QC’s Facebook Page. You’ll vote for your favorites by liking the best photos! The five photos with the most “likes” by December 18th will be our finalists.
The five finalists in each category will be critiqued on video by the category judge who will also pick the grand prize winner!
Here’s your inspiration image:
Winter Fairy Princess
Create a fantastical creature that lives in this image. Does she live in the ice castle? Or maybe she roams the frozen woods looking for strangers in need? Perhaps she’s trapped in the dungeon underneath!
Be creative and have fun. And be sure to send us a written description of the look you created!
The winner of the “nice” category will receive a Sephora Favorites “Give Me More Lip” Collection along with a few samples from Nathan Johnson’s Studio!
Evil Snow Queen
Create an evil snow queen that might lurk the grounds, hunt in those caves, or rules the land from the icy tower!
Again, it’s important you include a description of the look you created with your entry. We want to see your creation in your story!
The “naughty” category winner will receive a Sephora Favorites “Lashstash” Collection along with a few sample products from Nathan Johnson’s Studio!
If you’re lucky and make it to the finals, you’ll get a chance to have your work evaluated and critiqued by leading industry experts!
Nathan Johnson and Azzi Williams are teaming up this year to review both categories together! You’ll get a chance to hear two distinct points of view on your work. As all makeup artists know, critiques like this are the key to improving your skills!
Special Prize for QC Students & Grads
This contest is open to everyone, not just QC students and grads. But, we’ve got an extra prize reserved for the QC Community!
So, if you are a QC student/grad, include your student number when you send in your entry! At the end of the contest period, we’ll draw a random QC student who entered the contest, and the lucky winner will receive a Sephora Favorites “Superstars” Collection, just for participating!
